MediLodge of Taylor cooks up a vast array of scrumptious meals to suit every palate. Each day, residents wake up to a variety of breakfast options, including pancakes, waffles, cereals, oatmeal, bagels, toast, juices, and of course, fresh coffee and tea. Lunch and dinner options rotate daily – including a choice of meat like turkey or shrimp, a baked potato or French fries, choice of vegetables, desserts like baked apples or cheesecake, and a selection of beverages. We also have a food committee made up of residents who select a theme meal each month, food for the occasion and decorations to match.

Upon admission, all residents are screened for potential physical, occupational, and speech therapy needs. Our staff develops customized treatment goals for each resident to help maximize his or her potential. Our ample therapy room provides plenty of space for residents’ care and rehabilitation. Specialized materials, tools, activities, and plans help residents regain skills and independence. Most residents who are admitted via Medicare are able to return home or back to their assisted living facilities after treatment and rehabilitation.

As an adjunct to rehabilitative therapy, restorative nursing promotes independence via programs such as movement, range of motion exercises, and restorative dining. In addition, our therapists provide input to our Activity Team to suggest activities that might help residents improve their functioning without even realizing that they’re in “treatment.” In this way, rehabilitation doesn’t stop when a resident leaves the therapy room—they can continue to improve as they enjoy fun, interesting activities throughout their stay.
