If you think that life slows down at MediLodge of Taylor, you may be in for a surprise. Theresa, our Activity Director, keeps everyone busy with a weekly calendar jammed-packed with activity options—including holiday parties, birthday parties, games, guest speakers and more. MediLodge of Taylor owns a bus with wheelchair access so that adventuresome residents can join staff for weekly outings to favorite destinations.
Here a few of our residents’ favorite things to do:

You can’t live in metro Detroit without an occasional trip to one of the city’s fabulous casinos. Every quarter, our residents enjoy a Greek Town Casino adventure. It’s a great day to spend with family and friends, and includes lunch at a nearby restaurant and visits to the local bakeries. These outings are especially fun when one or more residents come home winners!
Other MediLodge of Taylor outings include:

MediLodge of Taylor offers an on-site computer with Internet access for our residents’ use. For residents who aren’t familiar with how to use computers or the Internet, we offer classes that teach them how to “surf the Web” and send and receive email. The computer is one small way we help residents stay in touch with family members.

The Dizzy Lizzy Club is the self-appointed name of our internal ladies club. Members get together twice a month to plan outings and fundraisers, decorate hats to wear to events, send cards and letters to the ill, and more. The club is always planning something fun, and new ideas and members are welcome anytime!

At MediLodge of Taylor, we love to have people visit. In fact, we love it so much that we host several events each year for our residents, their families, and our community. At Eastertime, there’s the annual community party where residents, families, grandchildren and other members of the community enjoy an Easter egg hunt. followed by a fabulous Easter dinner. Events like these bring people of all ages together in family-centered activities that everyone enjoys. Learn more about what we do on our Community Involvement page.
For a complete list of all we do, please ask the Activity Director for a copy of our monthly calendar. Family members and friends are always welcome to participate in any of our activities—your family member would love to see you and we would, too.

MediLodge of Taylor has an active volunteer program.
Our volunteer, John Smith, was the Healthcare
Association of Michigan's Volunteer of the Year in
2002. We encourage people to come in, check out our
program, and if interested, share your talents to
enrich the lives of our residents. We encourage all
types of volunteers. If you belong to a religious
group, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, or just want to stop
in for a visit, we would love to welcome you into our
family.
