When you work in a nursing home, you hope you’ll feel good at the end of the day—that you’ve been able to make a difference in life of a person in your care.
Here at MediLodge of Taylor, we recognize that our employees are a special, and we do our best to recognize and reward their good work. Most of the people who come to work here tend to stay with us, especially if they’ve come from another long-term care provider. They tell us it’s because:

We stress the “fun” part a lot around here. Here are some of our favorite ways to say “thank you” to our terrific staff:
– There’s no lack of appreciation at MediLodge of Taylor! Senior managers take advantage of every opportunity to recognize employees for their hard work. Our “Employee of the Month” enjoys a moment of fame in the local paper and receives a gift certificate to a favorite local restaurant or something similar. Other recognition opportunities (and good excuses for a party) include Dietary Month, Social Services Week, Secretary’s Day, and more.
– When it’s time to distribute checks, MediLodge of Taylor’s Payroll Department has come up with something a little extra! Each pay period, paycheck envelopes are randomly coded so that some employees get a nice surprise such as dinner at a local restaurant, tickets to a special event or a gift certificate.
– Remember those perfect attendance awards in grade school? Well, recognition doesn’t have to end there at MediLodge of Taylor. In a test of will and endurance, employees have “duked it out” for as long as 1.5 years to see who can maintain a perfect record the longest. The reward is, of course, worth the effort. Most recently, the “last man standing” won a fully paid weekend trip to the Windy City (Chicago).
– Although we celebrate all year long, two of our staff’s favorites are our St. Patrick’s Day potluck and Christmas Party. At St. Patrick’s day, everyone cooks and everyone—even people who are off duty for the day—eats. At Christmas, we have another terrific meal with lots of prize drawings, music, and general merriment.
